It’s 2013! I’m going out on a limb, and forecasting that this will be a good year! I am hearing many people declare, “Happy New Year!” In addition to their well wishes and greetings of cheer, I hear more and more people make resolutions in the beginning of each year. When hearing these optimistic goals proclaimed to the world, I wonder how many will actually follow through. Don’t get me wrong, I judge no one who has a goal (whether achievable or one that is a little too far out there), but the idea had never really sparked my interest. I had always been the type to not dream too big (kind of goes along with the idea of – “don’t get your hopes up”).
This year will be different, and I will (for the first time) create my own New Year’s Resolution! I mean, why not?! A dream is a good thing to have, right?
Before I divulge what my resolution will be for the year 2013, let me share with you my favorite Merriam-Webster dictionary definitions of Resolution: (really think about these)
• The act of determining
• The passing of a voice part (or chord) from a dissonant tone (incongruous, disagreeing, inharmonious, unsuitable) to a consonant tone (congruous, harmony or agreement among components, resonance, balanced)
• Firmness of resolve
• Formal expression of opinion, will or intent voted by an official body or assembled group
Now: The moment you have been waiting for…my own resolution:
I have determined my need to put pen to paper and begin writing again. It has been a long time since I have written anything longer than a facebook post, and feel it is long overdue. Therefore, in prayer, I have felt the Lord’s call to do my best in giving a voice to all the unborn and aborted babies. Abortion was legalized and I see this as an opportunity to share thoughts, facts, and opinions on abortion to all who read my blog. Say a prayer that I can touch those who need it the most and that the Holy Spirit will work through me to reach those who may be thinking about abortion, those who have gone through this, and those supporting others affected.
Thanks and God Bless!
