When you don’t understand something, of course it is harder to make an informed decision. I would like to outline some sound information for you below that you may use or give to someone who may be thinking of having an abortion. I never understood the entire process of an abortion, and always thought… well it must just be some “magical” pill that allows a woman to forget she was ever pregnant. That is not the case.

According the Planned Parenthood website, they offer several types of abortions. Depending on how far a woman is in her gestation, they may end a pregnancy a number of different ways. Planned Parenthood classified them on their website to include “The Abortion Pill,” and “In-clinic Abortions.” I will go into more detail in my next blog about In-clinic Abortions (which will be VERY eye-opening), but for now I would like to give you some information on “the pill.”

The Abortion Pill (another term for the medication- Mifepristone) is a pill, which can be taken all the way up to 63 days (9 weeks) after a woman’s last period. By 9 weeks your baby is starting to look less like a lima bean and more like a person. Nerves are forming to be capable of sending messages to the brain. Little fingers and toes have formed, and it is possible to hear that little heartbeat on a monitor. After 9 weeks pregnancy, a woman might be referred to the process of having an in-clinic abortion. The medication abortion is a two-step process and some women do not realize they must visit the abortion clinic twice to receive the necessary medications to remove the baby from their body.

This abortion pill blocks any action of progesterone from sustaining a pregnancy. Progesterone is necessary to a woman’s body in order to maintain a healthy pregnancy. If you were to take such a pill, the uterus would change/break down, the cervix softens and opens, and the baby is detached from the mother internally. The abortion pill is then combined with a medication called Misoprostol (at your second visit). This medication takes the baby and the other uterine contents and “dumps” them. Heavy cramps and heavy bleeding combine with large blood clots and large “globs” of tissue may be difficult to expel. What most women do not realize is that this process may take up to days or weeks to stop the bleeding. Many women also experience nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, pain, fever, dizziness, or other side effects.

As mentioned above, the “pill” abortion is available up to 9 weeks into your pregnancy. At 9 weeks pregnant, your baby looks like THIS:

That sweet child inside isn’t expecting to be flushed away and disposed of. This little baby is warm, comfortable, and trusting it’s mother to keep it safe and is utterly innocent. A mother’s body is naturally responsible for supporting her child and enduring whatever she must to keep her child safe and secure. Please think twice before ever going against that natural instinct to protect and love your child, no matter the circumstances. If that means giving birth and placing your child up for adoption, where he or she might find a loving family to care for them, then please do it!

FACTS about abortion

Facts about abortion:

Many individuals avoid the topic of abortion not only because of the intimate nature of the discussions and articles, but also because of their lack of knowledge on the topic.
Some go as far as to believe that if they choose to have an abortion, they will simply walk into a doctors office and somehow obtain a magic pill that will shrink the baby or magically make it disappear with no trace of what has been done. POOF!
The planned parenthood webpage lists types of abortions, giving the description of “The Abortion Pill” as: “Take medications to end an early pregnancy” and “Safe and Effective.” Planned Parenthood has used the brief description as a way to seduce individuals into thinking its just a pill, and nothing more. All of this of course is untrue. Not only can abortion be an invasive procedureee, but it is also can be painful and leave the patient with several issues (infection and other problems). Below are some gruesome facts about abortion and I hope these will shed some light on what it entails.

According to 1973 Roe v. Wade, Abortion is a legal procedure in the U.S.
A perfectly healthy baby boy or girl may be aborted far past the first trimester (a baby’s brain with two visible lobes, spinal cord, heart and other organs begin to form at just three weeks from conception and it’s heart beats at just four weeks!)
Scientists have determined “fetal viability” to land somewhere around 22 weeks gestation. In 2006, the earliest premature birth was a little girl named Amillia, whose mother had complications, forcing the doctors to deliver her baby early. Amillia survived, while being the earliest preemie ever at only 21 weeks and 6 days gestation. This is just short of the pro-choice scientist’s fetal viability estimations.
A full term pregnancy is generally 37-40(42) weeks gestation. According to Planned Parenthood, abortions are offered all the way up to 24 weeks gestation.

The Partial-birth Abortion Ban Act was put in place in 2003, which makes partial birth abortions illegal under Federal law (and now also many state laws). In 2007 The Supreme Court upheld the ban on partial-birth abortions without exceptions (i.e. in cases where the procedure is deemed by a doctor as necessary for reasons of medical condition of the mother).

Over 53 million babies have been slaughtered since Roe v. Wade in 1973. That is a staggering number!

Approximately 3,000 people were killed in the 9/11 World Trade Center disaster, and every DAY more than 3,000 babies are aborted! How is this allowed? And how is this still a legal procedure? Think about the months and months of news coverage on the 9/11 attacks. I wonder why abortion is not as publicly opposed!?

Over half of all abortions are done out of convenience or because the pregnancy was unplanned.

A reported 41% of all New York City pregnancies are aborted.

In a 1922 book entitled “Woman, Morality, and Birth Control”, Planned Parenthood Founder Margaret Sanger wrote the following….
“Birth control must lead ultimately to a cleaner race.”
(What tyrannical leader does this sound like?)

Come back to my blog and read my next posts dedicated to descriptions and types of abortions, and also statistics and polls! Knowledge is power folks! Get schooled and get arguing (Pro-Life, of course!)
