On February 18th, 2010, the FBI and detectives from
the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office
raided the Women’s Medical Society,
a clinic in West Philadelphia.
What they found was unthinkable…

POLL: Should the “Morning-After pill” be made available to ANY age female without a prescription or parent’s permission?

Step in the wrong direction… Federal Judge orders FDA to making the “morning after pill” available for any age

A Step in the WRONG direction and it saddens me… (I am a very passionate Pro-Lifer and it is NOT my intention to judge anyone for past choices, so I do not care to open this up for debate. Instead, I am simply sharing my opinion with my friends on FB- most of you know me well enough to understand my intent)

** A quote from this article states, “… the morning-after pill should be available to females of all ages, on the shelf at any convenience store, just like aspirin or condoms,” said plaintiff Annie Tummino, coordinator for the National Women’s Liberation group. “Women and girls should have the absolute right to control our bodies without having to ask a doctor or a pharmacist for permission.” **
This is the remark that popped into my head upon reading that quote (I must admit a bit “heated”): “Maybe, if they practice more “control of their bodies,” they wouldn’t have to use that pill. I guess, if the government thinks it necessary to ENABLE our pre-teens and teens to get sucked into society’s views of “sex” today, then why don’t we just stick the pills in a PEZ dispenser and hand them out in the lunch room in elementary schools and give them all a good talkin’ to…like –“HEY! Lookie here… do whatever you like, as early as you like, and whenever you like… because YOU WILL NEVER have to pay the consequences! There’s a magic pill out there that will fix all your problems after having pre-marital sex!”

Ok– so, after my snarky initial reaction passed, I am mindful of the impact that such a small step might have on our teens. I believe that enabling our teens with regard to contraception, to me, is the same as sanctioning pre-marital sex as a valid practice. Whether it is handing out condoms at prom, or making the morning after pill available for kids who are looking for a Band-Aid for their bad choices from the night before at the local 7-11 store – I feel they are open invitations to rely on things as an easy out, instead of understanding temptation and doing the right thing.
There is a true call to Holiness in 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 (NIV) – which says– “3 It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; 4 that each of you should learn to control your own body in a way that is holy and honorable, 5 not in passionate lust like the pagans, who do not know God;”
I struggle every day in my own walk with Christ on a VERY personal level. I HOPE that through a LIFETIME of Christian teaching and God using me to lead my children, I will be able to explain to them how to handle themselves when the pressures of the world are coming crashing down upon them, instead of following a false notion that no matter what their actions- there is always an easy fix.
I pray that each of you will become convicted to also spend time teaching your children the importance of honoring their own bodies and not making hasty decisions that will change their futures forever or possibly hinder the life of an innocent unborn child.
Psalm 139:13-14 (NIV) – “13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”

(CNN) — Overriding a veto by Arkansas’ Democratic governor, the state’s Republican-controlled House and Senate approved a bill to ban abortions after 12 weeks of pregnancy — the most restrictive such law in the country.

Gov. Mike Beebe, a Democrat, vetoed the bill Monday, saying it “blatantly contradicts the United States Constitution, as interpreted by the Supreme Court.”

But on Wednesday, the Arkansas House voted 56-33 to override the veto, following a 20-14 override vote a day earlier in the state Senate.

The Center for Reproductive Rights and the ACLU of Arkansas promised to mount a legal challenge in federal court, while supporters said they were prepared to fight back.

“We intend to make it … clear that no one’s constitutional rights are subject to revision by lawmakers intent on scoring political points, and that attempts such as this to turn back the clock on reproductive…
